It's a sad day for us - saying Goodbye to Maddie
 

We had to make a decision about our dear Maddie. She is getting older and getting harder to take care of. She hasn't been eating well, whimpers and sleeps alot and has been aggressive. When we talked to the vet about this on numerous occasions we really didn't like the options we were given.

We were able to find a rescue organization that specializes in her breed. When we spoke with them, her allergies, eye problems and other ailments seem to be typical of an aging dog of her breed and they are confident that they can take care of her. They are familiar with her medications and the difficulties involved.

These are a couple of my favorite pictures of her taken last summer with baby Cooper.

Now, we have to put her in another room because she gets aggressive toward the kids.

So, though we are very sad to say Goodbye for now, we feel that with the proper care, she still has quality time left and will be with people who are aware of her needs and difficulties. It's not that close so we won't be able to visit her but  I hope to keep contact by email to see how she is doing.

So just a note here to say THANK YOU to all the wonderful people who rescue and take in dogs like our dear Maddie.
